I read a similar topic before posting this one but my issue is not the same. I successfully followed chapter 1 and everything worked fine except at the end of the chapter after creating the AVD EMULATOR to run the app.Android Studio said build successful but the phone is blank, not showing the app, the phone just said ANDROID. Launch the Microsoft Store and see if this has resolved the issue or not. To do this, simultaneously press the Windows logo and R keys on the keyboard. Press the Enter button to execute the command. Get-AppXPackage *Microsoft.WindowsStore* | Foreach Open Windows PowerShell from the Start menu. Press the Run the troubleshooter button. On the left side menu, tap on Troubleshoot. Click on the add profile button and sign in with your account. Tap on the profile picture and click on the account. Once the cache is cleared, the store will open automatically. Wait for a few seconds and let the command prompt clear the cache of the Microsoft Store. Open the Start menu and search for wsreset.exe. Open the Microsoft Store and attempt to install an app and see if it has solved the issue or not. 
Once the reset is done, close the Settings menu. 
A confirmation box will appear on which you again need to press the Reset button. Click on Apps>Microsoft Store>Advanced Options. Probably the first thing that you should do when the Install button is not working on the Store, is to reset it back to its original state.
